2/11 CRAZY LOVE!: Love Between Friends.
Before I go into love between friends I want to first define what a friend is. A friend is someone you care about or spend volunteered time with that is or is not of blood relation; someone you like to spend time with. In Proverbs17:17 it says "A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." Now this verse does not mean you and you friends will always be BFF's (Best Friends Forever!) at all times or that you and your friends will never be in a disagreement, or that your friend will never leave you, it just means a friend will love always, now this love is a loyalty to one another, so love between friends is loyal. In Proverbs18:24 it refers to the loyalty of a friend "A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer then a brother." A thing that all friends share is a love for one another, the love is tender, fond, kind and benevolent. A friend spends time with you not out of necessity or because their being forced to spend time with another, but because they want too. A friend is one who laughs with you feels compassionate with you, crys with you at times and should be cherished because you never know how much time you have with a friend. In the book "Anne of Green Gables" by L. M. Montgomery (pg 131-132) Anne and her friend Dianna after a terrible accident are no longer allowed to see each other, they made a promise to always remain friends to each other no matter where they go. They are latter reunited a few chapters latter remaining as loyal to each other in their friendship as the day they made the promise, as they will always remain "bosom friends.". Their friendship reminded me of a friendship in the Bible 1Samuel 20 between David and Jonathan. Now David's life was in danger and Jonathan's father King Saul was the one who wanted to kill him, so to find out if David would be safe remaining in the kingdom they made a plan between themselves to find out. Now the plan was that Jonathan would tell his father that David went on a trip to sacrifice with his family in Bethlehem and if his father showed any anger or said anything of the sort Jonathan would warn David by sending three arrows into a field and by telling a servant boy the arrow "was still ahead" but if it was safe Jonathan would say the arrows are on "the side of him." The sad part is that Jonathan had to deliver the news and it was that David needed to flee, but before the friends left each other they made a promise to never let any harm come to each other and between their children and any other family that follows forever, and then they departed. That was one of the last times those faithful friends saw each other, but even after Jonathan's death David stayed true to their promise, by taking Jonathan's only surviving son Mephibosheth (2Samuel 9:1-13) by taking him in to live in his palace as one of his own sons. In John15:13 Jesus says "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." this is the love between friends. John14:34 "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another."
