In John 14:6 it says "6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
So the only way is through Jesus Christ, but how do we receive this gift of salvation?
In the book of Acts a crowd asks Peter "...what shall we do?" about this same matter and this is the reply "...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2: 37-38)
So now your most likely wondering what does the word repent mean?
Repent means to turn completely around. In other words ask God to forgive you and turn completely away from sin.
Have you been Baptized? In whose name by reading this verse you must be baptized in Jesus name.
No other name or titles are right. Now the word baptism comes from a Greek word baptizmo which means full submersion, otherwise buried. In Colossians 2:12 "Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead." So if you have been baptized at one point and it has not been according to scripture be sure to.
What is the Holy Ghost? The Holy Ghost is a comforter and the Spirit Jesus said in John 3 that without one cannot enter the kingdom of God. How do you know if you've been filled with the Holy Ghost? Some have said it is a feeling that you know, but lets look in Acts 2 when people first received the gift of the Holy Ghost... " 1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. " (Acts 2:1-4) Every time someone gets the Holy Ghost they speak in other tongues.
Okay now your probably thinking. All that happened a long time ago so it is not for me. But that's where your wrong. In Acts 2:39 it says " 39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call."
This promise of God's love is for everyone, the question is
ARE YOU READY TO EXCEPT GOD"S LOVE?
